Thanks for visiting this site.
I got out of the Army in early 2015, and am now a teaching pastor at Friendship Church in Lakeland, FL. It’s a relationship-oriented ministry built on a small-group model. Having completed the MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Tampa, I’m also teaching writing at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. I am excited about the opportunities and the doors that have opened up to me.
In addition, I’m just getting started writing. I primarily write nonfiction. The first book is based on my MFA thesis, and is about ministry experience in Iraq in 2007. I’m working on a second book now, using the shortest river in the world as a parable or metaphor for what happens in a person’s life and how we respond. Future projects may include an adaptation of my doctoral dissertation on the Biblical Principles of Marriage. Then, my wife and I want to write a devotional book for couples based on the Biblical Principles of Marriage. And that’ll be followed by a book of stories about some interracial experiences I’ve had, starting from when I was a kid.
Feel free to look around.
