Bio

Paul Linzey is a writer and public speaker.

He completed the Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA. Graduate degrees include the Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary, the Doctor of Ministry at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at the University of Tampa, with a dual emphasis in fiction and nonfiction.

After pastoring in Southern California and then serving twenty-four years as an Army chaplain, he taught at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. While at SEU, he taught practical ministry classes, developed their Creative Writing major, conducted the annual Expressions Writers Conference, and was a mentor in the Doctor of Ministry program. He left SEU to become the Protestant pastor at the United States Naval Academy. Then he served as the professor of Spiritual Formation and Practical Ministry at Called College in Carlinville, Illinois.

Linzey is a multiple-award-winning author. In addition to writing several books, he has contributed to several collaborative works. His published writings include poetry, memoir, fiction, and nonfiction. Articles cover a broad range of themes, typically focusing on relationships, personal growth, spirituality, and leadership. He is a judge for several writing contests. A few years ago, he created a business helping people self-publish their writings. He speaks at conferences, churches, universities, and writers groups.

Paul’s personal interests include music, digital photography, movies and theater, travel, sports, and family. He and his wife have three sons who are military officers, and ten grandchildren.

Ordained and endorsed as a chaplain with the Assemblies of God, his theme verse is from 1st Thessalonians 2:8, “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.”
