Have you ever wanted to make a difference in someone’s life or provide guidance for that person, but you didn’t know what to say or what to do? I think a lot of us have been in that situation before.
On the other hand, have you ever known someone that you respect or admire and you wanted to ask for input or advice, but felt awkward or unsure about how to go about it?
Journey to Mentoring is a new book that Greg White and I co-wrote a few months ago. Both of us have mentored hundreds of people, and both of us have studied and received training in what it takes to have a successful and effective mentoring experience. Greg is a trained mentor with John Maxwell’s organization, and I received training in mentoring as a military chaplain.
Mark Cole, who is the CEO of John Maxwell’s Leadership training, wrote the foreword and had this to say about the book: In Journey to Mentoring you will discover timeless principles that can serve as a foundation for building a fulfilling life. There are nuggets of truth, helpful perspectives, and expanded thinking that I believe will open your eyes to more growth opportunities. But what really brings the message to life are the personal stories and examples . . .

Hi Hermano Paul 😃
I just purchased your new book and looking forward to reading it.
Mark Cole may know my current RVP Lacey Peacock. Lacey worked for John Maxwell. She may have crossed paths with him.
News on my front: Came back from an England and Cyprus trip. I was at Barnabus’s place of birth. Did you know he was a Cypriot, and a Levitcal Rabbi from the tribe of Levi.
Got a blad flu on the way back called H1N1 the bird flu. It was devasting to my body. It put me out for three weeks and then triggered inflammation in both my feet for the last month and a half. I tried to go to work but it it smacked me right back down and flared inflammation in my two feet. Three VA ER trips later and time, and I am on the mend but I am still not 100% like I’d like to. Still have inflammation in my left ankle and great toe(painful and disheartening in a way).
So we went on a bereavement trip to Cornwall. Mary’s only and our favorite aunt passed away suddenly. (We still have my aunt Ana in Westchester, NY to call our favorite). We went to spread aunt Joy’s ashes. Then we went to visit Mary’s old college roommate and her family in Cyprus after she found we would be in England. Both wonderful visits!
I am getting encouraged to apply to a Doctorate in Ministry specializing in Executive Leadership. I am not sure if I qualify for entry to this program. But I am praying about it and putting steps to see if I can apply. OBTW may I use you as a reference?
I was also thinking instead of completing a Masters of Divinity. I want move up in leadership at Corporate Chaplains of America or prepare for a pastorate as an assistant to lead pastor in a church somewhere (I looked at the AG program for ordination and it’s about 2 years long and costs about the same).I think that I’ve been leaning to being a pastor for a long time. So I am praying for that as well.
I am still not out on the writing front. I have been writing weekly articles and that has been satisfying, practical and challenging.
Well brother I’ll end here. Thanks for reading. If God gives you any insight to my case I would be glad to hear it.
Blessings my Brother Paul! In His Service with Love CW
